Boundaries
I have always been interested in edges and corners, the tensions that are created there. An image can be happily sat in a comfortable space in the middle of a canvas but that feels

like a missed opportunity. What happens beyond the picture is always alluring. I once took a small boy to playground at

the back of a pub, by a river. He was clearly told not to go beyond a certain point as it was not safe. He spend a couple of hours exploring that boundary, stepping across that imaginary line and looking to see if we were noticing.
With the boundary clearly defined he was bursting
to be free.
